If You Got It... Use It

For some Christians, there are debates about which are more important... spiritual fruits or spritual gifts. But here is a thought. Whatever gifts and/or fruits one may have... those gifts are most important if they are used to bless others in the name of Jesus Christ. Check out Saint Peter’s comments on this subject:

^7-11 Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God's words; if help, let it be God's hearty help. That way, God's bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he'll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!

Yours For The Taking

What You Ought’nt To Do

What is the worse sin? Is it lying? Murder? Adultery? The Bible lists seven things that God hates. If God hates something, then logic and reasoning would say that you ought not to do such a thing. What are those seven things that God hates?

¹⁶These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him:
¹⁷A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
¹⁸A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,

It Ain’t Worth Dying Over

We heard Lon Solomon quoted the sad story of an unloved teenage girl who took her own life because she felt unloved. In the news we have heard of many people who kill themselves because of the economy or other tragic circumstances.

Do You Have Schisms?

Schisms?  Do you have them?  Do you even know what they are?

Biblical Definitions

Schisms are something that God hates (Proverbs 6:16-19). Schisms are something that Jesus prayed that the disciples would not have (John 17:11). Schisms are something that St. Paul gave great effort towards avoiding (Acts 24:16). Schisms are something that must not exist in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:25). Schisms are a disease that prevents God’s people from doing what God wants us to do.  This week’s Seven Minutes of Wisdom is about schisms.

Jesus is Coming Back

The signs of the times continue to display… and the naysayers, pundits and scoffers continue to express doubt and disbelief.  But those in Christ are wise to heed the words recorded by Saint John:

¹⁰ "Because you kept my Word in passionate patience, I'll keep you safe in the time of testing that will be here soon, and all over the earth, every man, woman, and child put to the test.
¹¹ "I'm on my way; I'll be there soon. Keep a tight grip on what you have so no one distracts you and steals your crown.
¹² "I'll make each conqueror a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, a permanent position of honor. Then I'll write names on you, the pillars: the Name of my God, the Name of God's City—the new Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven—and my new Name.

Until He does return, we have work to do.  There are souls to be brought into the kingdom... people who are hungry who need to be fed... people who are homeless who need shelter... people who are hurting, lost and alone who need to fee the LOVE OF GOD expressed through us.

That Angry Girl

There are teenagers who are lost and trying to find themselves.

Come to think of it… that is the definition of “teenager,” isn’t it?

The truth is, there are so many young people in this world who are trying to find themselves.

Who am I?

Why am I here?

What is my place in this world?

These young folks can’t find themselves until they find eternal life through Jesus Christ. Same thing applies to old fogies as well...

A while ago, we encountered an angry girl who did not seem to know that... and we wonder if the churches in her area care about that fact?

Sometimes, all we can do is pray.

What if we did that... and perhaps put some action behind our prayers?

There is no God?

I recall watching an episode of CBS 60 Minutes where Scientist J. Craig Venter tells Steve Kroft that after his groundbreaking work studying the human genome, he does not believe that there is a God. Hmm... what does the Bible say about this?

THE [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable deeds; there is none that does good or right.

THE [empty-headed] fool has said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt and evil are they, and doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.

The fool says that there is no God. But the wise person knows that God is real... when we truly know Him with our whole hearts.
