Wake Me Up Before You Go Go [R]

That was the title of the song that launched George Michael's career. But it is also the attitude of many Christians who want to sleep soundly until the Lord returns. May the Lord find us awake and trusting Him... with hearts pure and clean... and lives that have a testimony of giving ourselves to serve Him by helping the lost to recognize the path of eternal life. [9 of 9] Walk in Love and Avoid Strife -- God Will Defend You!

We know that people are often used by satan to cause problems for us. We also know that God is a mighty defender Who will fight our battles.

The next important point is to remember that when we walk in love and avoid strife, we may with confidence leave all conflicts in God's hands... where they will be far better dealt with than in your own.

This podcast is the final episode in this series on love.

[6 of 9] More Love... More Power!

We are into a new year -- another year closer to Jesus’ return. And yet, with an advanced society (from a technological point of view at least), the church doesn't have nearly the power today that it had in the olden days... even though we have greater accessibility to scriptural resources today than ever before.

To have power, we must walk in love. When we walk in love, we can experience the joy of the Lord, which is our strength. Find out how by listening to this week’s podcast. Let’s make this our new year’s resolution -- to walk in more love, and to receive greater Holy Ghost power in our lives for 2010!

Civil Disobedience?

It is interesting to hear about people who feel that they can quote Bible verses out of context as a way of getting a political point across.  Perhaps they should consider these verses:

1FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
2For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
3For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,
4Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth.

God is our Daddy

Fourteen minutes of wisdom based upon the following scriptures:

For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.  Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].  (Hebrews 4:15-16 [AMP])

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!  The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.  (Romans 8:14-16 [AMP])

Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.  For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.  Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent?  If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him! (Matthew 7:7-11 [AMP])

To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law, that we might be adopted and have sonship conferred upon us [and be recognized as God's sons].  And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father!  Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ.  (Galatians 4:5-7 [AMP])

Classic Podcast: Goodwill and Favor

http://www.link2power.org/podcasts/2009_16.mp3

Show me a sign of [Your evident] goodwill and favor, that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because You, Lord, [will show Your approval of me when You] help and comfort me. [Psalm 86:17 AMP]

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. [Isaiah 41:10 AMP]

Don’t Do Things That God Hates

This podcast (http://www.link2power.org/podcasts/2009_11.MP3) provides seven minutes of wisdom on Proverbs 6:16-19:

16These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him:
17A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,
19A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (Amplified Bible)

Food for Thought

  1. Exposure to the Son may prevent burning...

  2. The King of Pop is gone, the King of Comedy is gone, the King of Soul is gone, the King of Rock is gone, but the King of Kings lives on!

  3. When Jesus said “Fret Not,” He wasn’t saying that you shouldn’t play the guitar...
